At Deliveroo, we’re always aiming to provide safe and secure deliveries on every order. We’ve introduced new features in the rider app to help you safely and easily deliver orders to the customer, like customer confirmation codes and leaving an order safely when you can’t reach the customer.
We know that each order is different - sometimes the customer prefers to meet you to collect their order and on other orders, customers are happy for you to leave their order at their door. That’s why we’re now giving customers the option to choose.
When a customer wants their order left somewhere safe, you’ll be able to see their drop-off preferences in the rider app when you’re near the customer’s location. Follow these instructions to leave the order where the customer has requested - you won't need to enter a confirmation code on these orders, and you won't have to wait around for the customer.
You’ll need to take a photo of the order in the customer’s chosen safe place in order to complete the order in the rider app. Then they can see the photo as proof of where you’ve left their order. Make sure to take a clear photo that shows you’ve left the order in the customer’s preferred safe place and do not include any personal or identifying information in the photo of the order.
If you can’t find the customer’s preferred safe place to leave the order, you can contact them in the rider app.
