Deliveroo UK Rider Support

Safety Change topic

Do I need to report an accident?

Your safety is the number one priority when riding with Deliveroo, so if you're involved in an accident or collision make sure the first thing you do is get to safety, and contact the emergency services on 999 if you or anyone else is injured.

If the accident causes damage or injury you're legally required to give your name, address and vehicle registration number to anyone with ‘reasonable grounds for requiring them’, for example an insurance company.

If you're using someone else's vehicle you must give the owner’s name and address.

If you are unable to give your details at the time of the accident you must report the accident to the police within 24 hours.

Deliveroo provides free accident and injury, and third-party liability insurance for all riders while working with Deliveroo. You must report the accident to Deliveroo even if you do not want to make a claim against Deliveroo's free insurance. It's important to note that reporting an accident won't cost you anything

Deliveroo also partners with Flare, to provide riders with a free app that detects accidents and notifies your emergency contacts if they happen.
